Te Ani graduated from Toi Whakaari in 2022. She has a background in performance, having annually participated in Hui Aranga, an event held in different cities across Te Ika a Maui every Easter weekend where Māori from all over the motu come together and perform kapa haka. Te Ani was in the lead cast of Gate Crash, a short film by Paloma Schneideman, which was selected as one of New Zealand's Best in NZIFF 2022.
