Pamela Kaval is a multi-award-winning actor and filmmaker from New Zealand, recognised for her diverse work in TV shows, web series, feature films, short films, and advertisements.
Her films have earned over 50 awards and more than 150 nominations at international festivals, along with eight personal awards for acting, screenwriting, and producing. Pamela’s filmmaking is driven by her passion for storytelling and a deep connection to nature, a theme that runs through much of her work. Her journey into filmmaking began after conducting research on the Galapagos Islands, where she was inspired by the history of the tortoises and went on to write a picture book, novel, and script.
Before pursuing a career in film, Pamela was an environmental academic, editor, and park ranger, with over 100 publications on sustainability and biodiversity. This rich background informs her films, adding a distinctive voice to her storytelling.
